Usage statistics for the year 2006 of e-journals i.e. IEEE / IEE, ASME, Science Direct and SpringersLink. The statistics shows the poor response of users in respect of utilization of costly online resources. Especially regarding ASME, there is not even a single hit to access during the year of 2006. It is requested to all students, research scholars and faculty members to please ensure the maximum utilization of these online resources for updating their skill and knowledge. HoD’s are also requested to kindly utilize their broadband connectivity for the purpose.
It is here mentionable that IEEE / IEE, ASME and ASCE are subscribed under the sponsorship scheme of AICTE and access is free till the proper utilization. In these circumstances and after evaluating the statistics of DCE accessibility, AICTE may withdraw its financial aid and all students, research scholars and faculty members will be deprived from the access of these valuable databases.
